This April leading up to the People's Climate March on April 29th local DC riverkeepers, artists & medicine women will be taking you on a journey of education, art & ceremony to learn more about the local DC waterways. There will be three different days at three rivers and one big ceremony the night before the big climate March on the 29. These river days are being put on by the Potomac, Patuxent & Anacostia Riverkeepers, Rabiah Nur of Spring of Light and Caryl Alexander of Ecohermanas.
To make these ceremonies happen we will need your help. We will be bringing in some medicine women from the four directions to come and participate with the big ceremony. We also need assistance in the purchasing of supplies. Every little bit helps us to make these ceremonies the best they can be so we can honor the rivers which are being heavily polluted everyday.
These ceremonies will be in honor of our local waters here in the DMV area as well as all water ways all over Turtle Island and Mother Earth. Our bodies are made of mostly water, we use water to bath, to drink, to eat & for entertainment. Water is life and we must protect this sacred resource. Prayer, education and the visualization through art are some of the best ways to help take care of our waters.
