Sophie is an 8year old who's family members are Southern California German Shepherd Rescue volunteers, adopters and fosters. Sophie loves and adores her 3 GSD dogs at home. But also loves to help those homeless GSD to find there forever loving homes. We recently fostered a 10week old GSD named Rowdy who had an inoperable heart condition and was only given to be 6months to a year of life. Sophie and her family showed Rowdy what a loving family is like. He lived a happy, playful and loved life but sadly he passed away in January at 10months old. He showed us that there is so many dogs that need an angel or a rescue full of angels to help them live a full happy lives life.
So when Sophie read about a GSD that Southern California German Shepherd Rescue had taken in that needed a lot of help and surgeries she wanted to help.
Grace came to the rescue with a devastating injury after being hit by a car. She's only 14 months old and a love bug. She had her first surgery not long after arriving to rescue. They had to send her to a specialist who has a technique to attach her pelvis back in place, then she had to have hip surgery so that her hip went back into its socket. And this is just her first surgery. Her other side gets repaired son. You can see the swelling, and we are hoping that once that goes down, her feeling will return. She has a long recovery ahead but we are hopeful. The first surgery has cost a few thousand. And she still needs more surgeries.
Sophie is donating her horse fund money ($200) to help this beautiful girl. Can you help her by donating too.
