In September 2015, the board of Sirimangalo International Buddhist Meditation Society established the brand new Sirimangalo International Monastery and Meditation Centre, under the guidance of Venerable Yuttadhammo Bhikkhu in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
We asked friends, followers, students, and supporters of Venerable Yuttadhammo to show their support for a residential meditation centre in Canada. The generous response allowed us to rent a building for the centre and to be able to invite residential meditators from around the world to come and take a course. The response of those applying to take courses, let us know that there was interest and need for this type of meditation centre.
The first centre, with room for 2 residential meditators was quickly outgrown. In July 2016, the centre moved to 31 Beaucourt Road, Hamilton, Ontario; a slightly larger dwelling with room for 4 meditators. The centre generally stays booked for months in advance. Venerable Yuttadhammo also offers one-on-one online teaching to those who are unable to attend the centre in person.
There is an online meditation community at https://meditation.sirimangalo.org/ to support all meditators, local and far away, outside of their course. And Venerable Yuttadhammo continues his nightly dhamma talk broadcast, given live to residental meditators with a live stream to the virtual reality platform, Second Life, and later uploaded to YouTube for the benefit of many.
It's a wonderful thing that we can offer these meditation opportunities to so many, regardless of their ability to contribute towards expenses. We rely on the generosity of those who see the benefit in giving, to keep the centre open and the online programs available. We joyfully accept donations of any amount for the benefit of these students of meditation as well as to support our teacher Venerable Yuttadhammo Bhikkhu. Donations are used to pay for rent, utilities, food for meditators, and the sundry needs of the centre.
If you would like to contribute to this worthy endeavor on a regular basis, recurring donation set up is available at http://www.sirimangalo.org/support/. If you would like to support the centre by cheque, please make your cheque out to Sirimangalo International and mail it to our Treasurer Robin Esposito, 239 Prospect Ave., Meriden CT 06451 USA.
If you would like more general information on our programs, please see our website at http://www.sirimangalo.org/. If you have specific questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected]

and we'll be happy to send one out!
