THE WORK CONTINUES!! Our 2015 Help Guatemala Hear Mission trip was a huge success...and as promised...we are doing it again! With sustainability as one of our goals...there is still a lot of work to be done. Hearing services are severely needed in this area and we hope to provide hearing services and hearing aids to those in need. The gift of sound is something we often take for granted.
We will again be serving through an outreach organization, Porch de Salomon, who has hosted short-term mission teams in Gautemala since 2006. Due to the extreme poverty, most mission teams' primary focus has been on building small concrete block homes for impoverished indigenous families. With the lack of health care in this area, their teams have also provided free village medical and dental clinics. My team from the Florida State University Speech and Hearing Clinic will again provide much needed hearing services and hearing aids to those in need.
This trip is being funded entirely through donations. Everything that will be used on the trip must be taken with us. This includes all of our audiology supplies, equipment, hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, etc. Monetary donations are greatly needed. Every penny collected will be used to directly benefit the individuals with hearing loss in Guatemala.
I am very excited about the opportunity to serve and minister. I ask you to join me in the ministry. I am seeking your support and prayers for this trip. I know you understand the value in what we can accomplish with your donation.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support!
