At the herbs are found many rare flora species: tansy (Iris pseudacorus), petioar (Salvinia natans), plague-water (Elodea canadensis), reed (Phragmites australis) or lily pond (Butomus umbellatus). Fauna and fish fauna is a well diversified, including a diverse range of birds, insects, fish, reptiles and amphibians; some of which are protected at European level or on the IUCN red list. From the entrance were placed panels with information about the island, about routes and biodiversity. Here inhabit black egret, cormorant and heron red, swans and other birds. The island has 1,600 hectares and within it lie two lakes without connection with the Danube, which actually occupies the largest area. Our plan of work includes, among other things, restoring walking trails, bringing the island a minibus electrically to walk people, facilities Gazebo, restaurants (all buildings must be wood), areas for fishing, a belvedere area, a camping tent, riding trails. Ostrov island has a length of about six kilometers. Before it was much higher, but was flooded with sinking Ada Kaleh (which was at about 100 kilometers away) in 1970 for the construction of the Iron Gates hydroelectric tomb of Attila I. One of the objectives that could attract tourists is where, according to legend, is buried Attila, the most powerful ruler of the Huns, nicknamed "scourge of God" who ruled between 433-453. Besides the island Ostrov, tourists can go on the road water mills in the valley Gramensca can go the route of caves, waterfalls on the river Moldava can see historical monuments (city of St. Ladislaus, the Roman camp Divici, rock Baba Caia) and visit Czech villages in the area. The greatest treasure of the island located in the village of Moldova Veche colony of wild horses living here. At the last census, there were 98 horses on the uninhabited island, living totally devoid of connection with people in complete freedom.
