The Story

Fighting for our friend Scotty Geist... 💛
A few months ago, Scott's daily routines suddenly exhausted him. Feeling something wasn't right, doctors ran tests that led to more questions, until a bone chip test came back as AML, a very dangerous, usually terminal form of Leukemia. Further tests showed he currently has an earlier version called MDS, which bought a him a fighting chance, because of his age.

For several weeks now, Scott has been enduring repeated blood & platelet transfusions to keep him going. He receives several chemo shots in his stomach throughout the week to prepare him for Fred Hutch next steps. In the next weeks he will need to begin intensive stem cell & bone marrow transplants. To knock this out he has to head to Seattle to check in for 100 days with round the clock care, after donors are found and the transplants take place.

He is stronger than we can imagine, but he needs friends & family to rally around him to be his support network as he fights this cancer. Everything required to survive will be financially draining, so we are trying to reduce that stress at least. Every dollar helps, so thank you for even the smallest kindness.

Stay strong Scotty! You got this... ❤ We are all waiting for you to come through the other side. xo

Following the incredible Mason Central Fire stair climb & the awesome, unprecedented Bob's auction raising $37k, Scotty is so grateful, overwhelmed, & working hard to prepare for his upcoming 2nd transplant that will now happen later this month. Unfortunately he has needed multiple surgeries this week causing a 3 week delay, but it's good they're getting him in the best condition before the procedure. The next golf tournament/auction is set for April 28th at Cap. City, Olympia. Thank you to Bart for leading this one & to all who've helped our friend fight in any way, it all makes a big difference. 🙏 #TeamScott ❤

Dear Friends. Thank you for your generosity. It Will be very helpful in meeting expenses. As many of you may know, I underwent  a bone marrow transplant in August to cure MDS or preleukemia. Unfortunately, it failed and progressed to AML (leukemia). We are trying again with a slightly different strategy. Achieve remission through chemo and follow up with another transplant. So far, we have achieved remission and will confirm one more time in mid march. If I'm still in remission, we will move forward with transplant. The transplant will take me out of commission for about 120 days so thank you again for your support. Love, Scott

Friends & Family of Scott... 💙 For those who haven't heard, while he fought super hard, the cancer unfortunately held its own & has now turned aggressive, turning into official AML. He's back at UW receiving more of the intense chemo, in prep for another transplant, which is the last thing they'll be able to do for him. He needs a Seattle home again & another 100 days of full time aftercare, on top of his usual expenses, hospital bills, tests, transfusions, meds, specialists, etc. So we are reaching out again to seek donations, help & lots of prayers on his behalf. Thanks for anything you can do to help. Hoping his final fight will be a strong one where he can focus on healing, not worrying about being able to pay to survive. 😔 xo
