Haven't posted in awhile, but there's been quite a bit going on. Lori
has been having ongoing issues with the colostomy, to the point that we will be going in this week to see a wound care specialist. Last week Dr. Elsahwi decided that both the colostomy and nephrostomy will remain in through the duration of Lori
's treatment, and the catheter will be in at least another 6-8 weeks. We've still been having issues with the insurance company second-guessing the doctors with regards to pain medications, which is frustrating, but hopefully resolved (for now). Finally, this week Lori
has her first appointment with the Oncologist to set up her schedule for chemo. Most likely within the next week or so they will be putting a port into her to facilitate the chemo treatments, which will be approx every 6 weeks. Her biggest fear with this is how sick it might make her, but we can only pray that she tolerates it well or they can counteract the nausea with some good meds. PLEASE take a moment and SHARE this funding page that has been set up to help us out - all of the funds generated will be put towards continued home health aid service for Lori
since the service paid by the insurance is about to run out. A HUGE thanks goes out to the 150+ that have already shared, and much Love and Hugs to the many people who have donated!
