We are raising money for general expenses of the March (making signs, ordering 300 T-shirts for the March, flyers & print ads in local papers to promote the March, bringing in guest speakers, and so on), for the March for Science that takes place on April 22, 2017. SCHEDULE:
9:00 am: assemble volunteers at Plaza de Las Cruces, NM
9:55 am: start rally
* introductions and instruction
* student speaker addresses the crowd
10:05 am: begin march (loop around Church and Water street sidewalk, walking by 2 or 3
10:55 am: back from march, assemble at main stage
11:00 - 11:00 am: wrap-up and instruction

The T-shirts to commemorate our March for Science Las Cruces are ready to be ordered.
Springing into action, March for Science - Las Cruces is ordering T-shirts to give away to the marchers on April 22nd 10AM. We call upon you to donate so that we can get the shirts printed and distribute them on the day of March for Science in Las Cruces. Everybody who donates $15.00 will also receive a shirt. Volunteers will receive a shirt. We also need the money to buy water and recyclable paper cups for water to be handed to the marchers.
On April 22, 2017, we will assemble at the Plaza de Las Cruces, NM, rally together with chants and placards, and start our march at 10a. Short speeches from fantastic speakers will follow and festivities will continue until 3PM.
So far we have the following speakers for the event:

3. Need donation So far we have about $1000 between actual collected and pledges.
Shirts to be ordered: 300. Total cost $1,569.00 : Shirts: $954 (3.18 x 300); Prnting $600 ($2.00 x300); Screen fee: $15 . The printing cost was reduced from $2.50 to to $2.00/shirt.
We need money to purchase water and recyclable paper cups for the marchers.
4. Need willing faculty/teachers/grad students (and a canopy and table) for "Ask a Scientist" station.
March for Science, Las Cruces, is organizing the “March For Science” in support of science, research and science education, to be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 22, 2017. Be at Plaza de Las Cruces. The public is invited to listen to various guest speakers, ask questions. We will assemble downtown mall (Plaze de Las Cruces) at about 10am, we plan to march around Church and Water street (sidewalks), then converge at tent downtown mall for some short speeches, followed by ASK A SCIENTIST A QUESTION at booths in the tent. This event is to show community support for the sciences in our schools, in our community, and in the world. While the March For Science is not designed to be a "protest," it’s primary mission is to raise awareness on the importance of the sciences and scientific inquiry in our schools and our society and set the stage for some serious dialog in this country regarding the search for reason, truth, inquiry, and the scientific method.
