The Story

Hello Dear People,
I recently inherited my father's building when he passed away this past September. My father, Ed Moss, was operating a jazz club, Schwartz's Point Jazz, on the first floor of the building. The Point is located at the five way intersection of Vine, McMicken, and Findlay just before heading up to Clifton from downtown Cincinnati.  I think this is an amazing historical building and I am undertaking the task of re-opening the club so that the Cincinnati community can enjoy the space and listen to live music created by our talented pool of musicians. The building is in need of some urgent repairs, however, and I am a person of only modest means. I'm not a big corporation or conglomerate. I've been doing as much work as I can with the limited funds available to me, but some essential repairs to the building are out of my price range. I've lined up excellent contractors who have quoted very amenable prices, but I am now seeking help to breath some life back into this awesome, yet neglected, downtown icon. Please consider donating anything you can afford. Even a small amount goes towards a positive project.
Thank you so very much for your help.
Peace and love to you.

Hello Dear Friends of Schwartz's Point,
I am writing to let you know that The Point will be opening very soon.  Much has been going on at the club thanks to all of you.  Although we received wonderful donations from you all, I needed to secure a loan, against my car, to get the roof fixed, as it was in dire need.  So with that done, thanks to Koala Roofing and the dear Brett Rubin, we could focus on other repairs and preparations.  If you go by The Point, you'll notice that the exterior trim has been painted, both the yellow and teal/green colors.  The interior has also received a fresh coat of paint after the walls were repaired, of course.  There is a new basement door that opens - yay - and a new refrigerator that doesn't leak. (I'm knocking on wood).  We are trying to find an inexpensive ice machine, as they cost an arm and a leg, generally.  :)  New signs go up soon, in the windows, along with new curtains, and some small changes to the original decor.  We are revamping the menu, as well, to reflect an eclectic offering of spirits, and other drinks, including some European selections.  There will be a specials board to show off seasonal and whimsical choices from around the corner or around the world.  We will continue the tradition of a nourishing buffet paired with excellent jazz and acoustic music.
Since you all have had a hand in the re-opening of The Point, we will soon be sending you invitations to a special "Thank You" party at The Point, just for those who have contributed funds and/or time to getting Schwartz's Point back in working order.  This event will also serve as a soft opening so that we can work out any kinks and get our sea legs with you, our kind supporters.
I can't tell you how very thankful we are to all of you, and we look forward to seeing you soon at The Point.
Much love and peace to you all!
Zarleen and the crew at The Point
