The Story

At approximately 7 a.m. on May 11, ICE agents with other law enforcement officers took Saul Cervantes from his home in East Los Angeles. Officers knocked on the door and began questioning Saul's mother, Leticia Fernandez, asking her who lived in the apartment. She said it was only her family and a friend who rents one of their rooms. Saul had just come back from dropping off his brother at school. When he heard his mother talking with the officers, he went to the door and stepped outside. At that moment, officials immediately detained him and took him to the Theo Lacy Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Orange County. They did not have a warrant. They did not give a reason to the family for taking him.

The communities of East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights are working tirelessly to get Saul out of the detention facility and not allow him to be deported. We need folks to call (714) 712-8074 or (714) 935-9640! Saul Cervantes' date of birth is: July 24, 1992.

The family is in desperate need for money to help pay for legal support.

Saul is out on bail!

Earlier this morning Saul was released from Lake Forrest detention facility! This is great news for his family and his community! Thank you all for your donations, shares and for helping spread awareness on Saul's case, but also for Claudia and other immigrants taken by ICE. Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles will continue to resist intimidation tactics by law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement. A community, united and militant, is unstoppable.

The family needs to keep raising funds to pay back the loan they took out for Saul's bail. Any amount helps! If you're unable to give, please share on social media.

**We need to post bail of $15,000 to get Saul out!**

Unfortunately, the judge ruled that Saul Cervantes must remain in custody until a bail amount of $15,000 can be posted. Otherwise he will be deported! We urgently need your help! We also have another fundraiser on another site by a family member of Saul. This is a person, a father, a son's livelihood. Please help keep this family together!
