Frankie is fine! Back to his old self. He still skips but he does not cry out at all, when playing, running, etc. So that is great!
I said he is back to his old self but not really. He is such a calm boy now. As I understand it, this is due to his being neutered in August. They say it takes 4 to 6 months for all the hormones to leave the body. The vet said the right knee is now more like a Grade 2. He said due to postponing the neuter, that helped, and during the recovery the right had to carry more of the 'load,' which would help strengthen the knee. So for now, we will postpone the second surgery. Yes Frankie skips on both sides, but he is not crying out in pain.

Frankie saw the vet for the 6 weeks post op check today. Frankie is really coming along and doing well! He did not skip at all with the 'surgical' leg, when the vet was watching ha haa. Two more weeks and I now have the handout info to begin physical therapy. The vet said he (Frankie) does seem very strong in the leg, the knee cap is in place and solid, and he doesn't think I will need to do much PT. Frankie does need to start out slowly and then increase activity (hear that instruction Frankie?), but seems he will be fine.
The other leg, the right knee cap was in place but the vet could easily move it out and back. And the vet saw Frankie is still skipping on that side regularly.
So Frankie is really coming along well in his recovery!

Frankie continues to be confined, he is not a happy puppa. I feel badly when I take the other 4 out in the car to go run at the park; he now knows what is going on and whines and cries at being left behind.
Two more weeks until the next vet check. Can't wait!
