The Story

On Wednesday evening, Tate Manahl was injured in a terrible accident.  He suffered severe injuries to his lower abdomen and legs.  Tate was rushed to Covenant Medical Hospital and later life-flighted to The University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.  Tate is currently heavily sedated and on a ventilator in the PICU to ease his pain and discomfort.  Tate is scheduled to have a major surgery on Friday to begin mending his precious little body.  The family is in desparate need of your prayers and support.

The Manahls are a family that I feel incredibly honored to know.  The unconditional love and dedication they have for their family is unprecedented.  I have never met a mother and father who love and cherish their children more than Ryan and Fonda.

The doctors and family remain very hopeful for Tate's future.  The road to recovery will be long and incredibly trying for their family.  If you are able to help this precious family in any way it would be greatly appreciated.  All donations collected will go directly to Ryan and Fonda and will be used to help bring Tate home!!!

We love you Manahl family and are storming the heavens for Tate and for all of you!!!  I am incredibly honored to be a part of Tate's Army, I hope you all will join me.

Jeremiah 29:11.  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

Mark 11:24.  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Our little warrior celebrated his 4th birthday on Monday!!! Praise God!  Birthdays are always special but they become even sweeter when you have been faced with a tragedy or an illness, it just opens your eyes to how fragile life really is and how the days we live truly are a gift from God.

Tate has a check-up in Iowa City Thursday for x-rays and to discuss a procedure for his left thigh.  This area of his leg is lacking muscle and the team feels that it may be best to graft muscle to this area to allow for added strength as Tate grows and develops.

Thank you for continuing to support this wonderful family, because of your prayers and our amazing God we get to continue to share in the life of this precious child!!

In the picture, Tate is holding his new baby sister.  He is officially a BIG BROTHER :) and very happy about his new role!

James 1:17  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Hello Tate’s Army, Happy New Year!! 2018 is going to be a great year for our little warrior, I just know it!!  Tonight I witnessed Tate walking, unassisted, on his own, WALKING and with a big smile across his face!!! God is GOOD!!!!  These are small yet gigantic steps in a miraculous FULL recovery to come!!!

We need prayers tonite, this weekend and next week for Tate.  Tate has a surgery scheduled for Monday.  The surgery team is planning on grafting a portion of bone from his hip to help stabilize and reinforce the procedure of bone transporting!  This Saturday marks the last day of the 40 day process of bone transporting. Tate’s appointment last Friday went great and the team is pleased with the new bone filling in. Due to Tate’s  young age, this bone graft that occurs Monday is recommended.

As all surgeries go, this one too comes with a whole list of risks and complications, so please be praying for our sweet little man.  Pray he once again uses his superpower strength and heals quickly, painlessly and perfectly!! Also please pray for his family, because leaving Tate for surgery is never an easy task.  Pray that they feel God’s grace and that He calms their racing thoughts and hearts.

I will do my best to update how things go on Monday, thank you again for supporting and praying for this wonderful family!

Psalm 30:2 Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.

Tate continues to blow the socks of this surgery thing... He required no pain medication the day after surgery and continues to be pain free!! He went home the day after surgery and has been doing wonderfully!  He returned to school just two days after his 6.5 hour surgery.  HE IS AMAZING!!!  At home Tate has been enjoying the warmer weather, he enjoyed a few walks in his wagon and even hit a few baseballs!! Tate starts PT this week and can start WALKING on both legs despite the 3" gap in the bone in his right leg.   PRAISE GOD!!!  Tate has a fixator present on his right leg that will be used to stretch the bone in his right leg.  Over the next 40 days, Ryan and Fonda will be moving this fixator 4 times a day to stretch the bone and fill in the 3" gap.

Tate will return to Iowa City this Thursday for x-rays and to evaluate healing.  PLEASE continue to pray for superhero healing...I think this is the only healing Tate knows :)   Also please pray that PT goes well and Tate regains his strength in BOTH legs.

Thanks Tate's Army we are truly grateful for the continued love and support!!
