The Story

The sudden, tragic and untimely passing of R' Eliyahu Matisyahu (Eli) Friedman OBM on the morning of April 17, 2018 a mere few days after the birth of his daughter Malyah Leah and less than a year since his marriage to Rivka (nee Orenstein) has left the young family without any means to support themselves.

Elias (Eli) was a beloved figure in the Jewish paramedic circles of Manhattan, where he served as Critical Care Paramedic with SeniorCare, and volunteered with Hatzalah of the Upper West Side (UWS).

A $500,000 campaign was launched to ensure that his wife Rivka and their young daughter Malyah Leah should be taken care of. Please donate generously!

Thank you,

Rabbi Aaron Mehlman (Cong. Ohav Shalom - Upper West Side, Manhattan)

Rabbi Yosef Orenstein (Woodcliff Lake, NJ)

Devora Steigman (Brooklyn, NY)

Rabbi Sholom Shuchat (Crown Heights)

Early this afternoon Elias (Eli) was interred in the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, NY, in the presence of a large crowd consisting of family, friends, co-workers, and people he touched during his short but productive lifetime.

In a beautiful and emotional speech delivered by his Rabbi, Aaron Mehlman, he spoke about the great person Elias was, and how important it is to remember him and remember his family.

If you did not donate yet, please donate generously. If you donated - please share the link with your friends and family. Every dollar makes a difference.
