Talked to Rick today. He said its been the best day since he was diagnosed with Cancer. Three weeks ago, he had the surgery. He had his bladder removed and prostate. The surgery went remarkably well. Better than the doctors expected. He was in the hospital for 5 days. He said he had a couple of bad days when he got home. A week ago he went to the doctor for follow up and the very good news is the cancer didn’t penetrate the walls of the bladder or the lymph nodes. And the blockage in his urethra was gone by the time they operated. Which means at this time he is Cancer FREE! Up until the doctor substantiated this, it was his faith, hope and prayers that kept him going, but this gave him substantial hope. Yesterday he went back to the doctor who removed all the staples from the various incisions He said it was painless and now feels he is well on the way to healing. Today he said for the first time he feels normal and walked 6000 steps. The hospital care was incredible, he felt well taken care of and knew everyone’s prayers made it so. His healing will take time but he feels he is on the mend. He is so grateful to everyone for their prayers and support. He is still dealing with the after effects of chemo and is sticking to his very serious diet regime so cancer doesn’t return and his body can function as best as possible. He asked me to thank everyone again and is overwhelmed by the goodness and generosity of those who helped him fight and win against this cancer. Without your support, it never would have happened. God bless you all.
