The Story

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our wonderful and righteous brother, Ricky Joswick, 40 year blessed member and husband and father of one young daughter, is fighting bladder cancer. He needs immediate prayers and financial support. Ricky is a founding member of the Oakland Church and has worked for years on the West Coast in the training and support of new members. He also co-founded the "Prayer for Revival" conference call in America, laying the spiritual foundation for the " God's Hope for America Tour" and the presidential election.  He has been working non - stop for over 10 years to facilitate 120 members praying together for the revival of this nation and our movement. He has organized prayer for up to 6 times a day praying with and for our members all over the world.  He had been driven to champion the healing of our church, praying for unity between all factions so that we can truly again be one family under God. You can imagine Satan trying to stop his work.  Now he needs our prayers and financial support to obtain treatment that can heal him. God really needs him right now,  our movement needs him and America and his family need him as well. Lets pray him totally healed and whatever you can donate, any amount, would be much appreciated.  Thank you everyone. Please forward this message to anyone who may want to help.

Sincerely,
Betsy Orman

Talked to Rick today. He said its been the best day since he was diagnosed with Cancer. Three weeks ago, he had the surgery. He had his bladder removed and prostate. The surgery went remarkably well. Better than the doctors expected. He was in the hospital for 5 days. He said he had a couple of bad days when he got home. A week ago he went to the doctor for follow up and the very good news is the cancer didn’t penetrate the walls of the bladder or the lymph nodes. And the blockage in his urethra was gone by the time they operated.  Which means at this time he is Cancer FREE! Up until the doctor substantiated this, it was his faith, hope and prayers that kept him going, but this gave him substantial hope. Yesterday he went back to the doctor who removed all the staples from the various incisions He said it was painless and now feels he is well on the way to healing. Today he said for the first time he feels normal and walked 6000 steps. The hospital care was incredible, he felt well taken care of and knew everyone’s prayers made it so. His healing will take time but he feels he is on the mend. He is so grateful to everyone for their prayers and support. He is still dealing with the after effects of chemo and is sticking to his very serious diet regime so cancer doesn’t return and his body can function as best as possible. He asked me to thank everyone again and is overwhelmed by the goodness and generosity of those who helped him fight and win against this cancer. Without your support, it never would have happened.  God bless you all.

Dear Friends:
Today, Sunday 7/9 I spoke with Ricky by phone. He sounded amazingly well. They want to send him home after 4 days in the hospital he is healing quickly. He has a lot of hope and the doctor seems satisfied they have gotten the cancer. Ricky is still on pain meds but off an IV and onto something milder. He is up and walking and for those who would like to send a card or email, I am sure he would be grateful. Ricky loves humor  He wanted to thank everyone for their support which he said he felt so strongly. He said his doctor and nurses have been amazing along with the hospital (therefore you know your prayers are working!) His attitude was so upbeat and he was so grateful to be alive. This surgery was not what he would have wanted but if it allows him to raise his daughter he is thankful to be able to have done it. Let us continue to pray as it will be along recovery at least 6 -12 weeks or more.  Because he has missed work and will continue to do so for a few more months, I want to continue to keep this fundraiser up until we make the goal. We need $5000 more. If you haven't had time to forward this or put it on a Facebook page, lets keep praying to make the goal. They need this now more than ever. God bless you and from the bottom of Ricks heart, thank you all.

Update on location of Ricks surgery today and doctors names for prayer. Today, Thursday at noon on the West Coast, 3pm on the East Coast our dear friend Ricky will be having surgery. We need to send the greatest doctors from heaven to help guide the doctors on earth. They want to remove his bladder, prostate and urethra. This is a very serious surgery. I am asking everyone to pray for his protection and the most minimal removal of just the cancer and his rapid recovery. It will be done at Huntington Hospital by these doctors. Dr. Satterthwaite and Dr. Zhumkhawawa at noon July 6. I would suggest no visitors at the hospital until he is feeling better at home and that cards be either sent to his home address or via email or facebook. Again, we are continuing to raise money for his medical expenses so please forward this link below to those who may be able to give. Thank you everyone, I will update you as I hear from the family. https://www.youcaring.com/rickjoswick-766593
