Rhina is a sweet little 10 lb. Yorkshire Terrier, nearly 6 years old who became unwanted by her owner because of enlarged lymph nodes in her neck. We rescued her on May 18 from the shelter because she was due to be put to sleep there. They considered her “unadoptable” due to the enlarged lymph nodes. We thought this sweet little girl deserved another chance and that the lymph nodes should be further tested (as the enlargement might have been due to a transient infection).
Aspiration of the lymph nodes revealed that she has lymphoma (cancer) but it has not spread to any of her other organs. The veterinarian also reported that it appeared that she had been nursing puppies just 2-3 weeks ago. Despite the lymphoma and having had puppies, she is spunky, full of energy and very lovable, and deserves every chance which we can provide for a happy future.
It is estimated that it will take $5,000 for chemotherapy and we already have some donations. So please help us to help her so that she can enjoy a happy life in a new loving home for however long she may be with us.
Please come and see Rhina and donate at our dog adoption showcases at Pet Food Express in Fremont, CA on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays every month, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. You could also donate for Rhina’s veterinary care by going to: http://www.lovewoof.com/donate.
