NG Solidarity with Refugees are inviting people from across Nottinghamshire to hold blanket drives at their workplaces and schools, during February. We are asking people to donate their thick, warm blankets to bring to the #NottinghamBlanketDrive for Refugees on 4th March.
Every £20 you donate will buy a warm, wool blanket for a refugee. Wool blankets remain warm when they are wet so are ideal. #NottinghamBlanketDrive.
Whilst the makeshift refugee camp in Calais was dismantled in November 2016 there are still over a thousand refugees living in the camp in Dunkirk and many people are sleeping rough on the streets of Paris, with more arriving each day from across Europe. There is currently a desparate need for thick, warm blankets to provide warmth and bedding to the Dunkirk refugee camp and the refugees in Paris.
