Recycled Youth is a free, after school performing arts program for teens that has been creating socially relevant shows in Southern Humboldt since 1997. The program runs annually, serving high risk as well as high achieving youth. Participants choose issues that are important to them, write scripts and songs using comedy, theater, dance, storytelling, music and more. They participate in set building, poster design, costumes and stage crew. There are four public performances at the Mateel Community Center and a performance at South Fork High School. This year the performances are on December 1st through 4th.
