The Story

I currently am partnered with a mobility assistance dog - a german shepherd, who has had troubles recently. Both with her physical health, and mental health. I am in need of a new partner, to call my own.

The main reason being she has been attacked multiple times, by fake service dogs.

Even with consistent  rehabilitation, she has shown unease with other dogs that approach her, while she is in work mode. I have made a decision to begin fundraising for her successor. She will live a comfortable, retired life once her successor's training is complete.

I am specifically looking into Golden Retrievers, and Leonbergers. Both of these breeds are mellow, and eager to please. I hope to find a breeder, who has a retired show dog, or a started puppy to build my foundation off of. Golden Meadow's Retrievers is at the top of my list.

He will be owner-trained, by myself. I have knowledge in training advanced working dogs, and I have a large support group of fellow owner-trainers, that will provide me with support along the way. This fundraiser is to raise the cost of him + shipping him, to Colorado, plus general supplies that will be used throughout his lifetime.

My new assistance dog will be trained in item retrieval, counterbalance/forward momentum/bracing, wheelchair pulling, carrying based tasks, allergy alert and cardiac alerts.

Anything helps!

I have been very ill, in and out of the hospital, and have not been good about upkeeping my fundraiser. My illness has resulted in severe food allergies, and cardiac problems. Because of these reasons, a new Service Dog prospect is more important than ever.

The breeder I originally planned to purchase my golden from, decided to keep him in her home. I am still hunting for the perfect prospect, and looking into Golden Retrievers, Leonbergers, and a few other breeds (if the perfect rescue comes up, however, I will not say no - the reason I look into breeders, is because these breeders specifically breed for service dog temperament, and health test their dogs).

I have had to up my fundraising goal, to match the new expenses I expect.

Thank you, for all donations so far, and those to come. I appreciate every penny, anyone can spare.
