I currently am partnered with a mobility assistance dog - a german shepherd, who has had troubles recently. Both with her physical health, and mental health. I am in need of a new partner, to call my own.
The main reason being she has been attacked multiple times, by fake service dogs.
Even with consistent rehabilitation, she has shown unease with other dogs that approach her, while she is in work mode. I have made a decision to begin fundraising for her successor. She will live a comfortable, retired life once her successor's training is complete.
I am specifically looking into Golden Retrievers, and Leonbergers. Both of these breeds are mellow, and eager to please. I hope to find a breeder, who has a retired show dog, or a started puppy to build my foundation off of. Golden Meadow's Retrievers is at the top of my list.
He will be owner-trained, by myself. I have knowledge in training advanced working dogs, and I have a large support group of fellow owner-trainers, that will provide me with support along the way. This fundraiser is to raise the cost of him + shipping him, to Colorado, plus general supplies that will be used throughout his lifetime.
My new assistance dog will be trained in item retrieval, counterbalance/forward momentum/bracing, wheelchair pulling, carrying based tasks, allergy alert and cardiac alerts.
