The Story

Project Bleeding Love's mission is to supply Chicago's homeless population with feminine hygiene supplies.

Given the choice between spending money received that day on food and sanitary supplies, homeless women have reported using socks, cotton balls, rolled up tissues and even newspaper to collect blood while menstruating, which in turns often results in infections, rashes, and additional hygiene concerns.

Last year we raised $1500 and on Valentine's Day, we were able to distribute to over 50 women with three months of supplies of feminine hygiene products including, tampons, sanitary napkins, vaginal cream, feminine wash, hot water bottles, Midol, and chocolate.

This year we're hoping to explore more sustainable options like Period Underwear, Menstrual Cups, and Reusable Cloth Pads... and chocolate. (Hey, it's Valentine's Day)

Distribution Day with once again is Valentine's Day so we're going to close donations on Feb 10th.

Please Donate and Share the Love.

Now that PBL is officially out of the thicket that is V-Day D-Day ((Valentine's Day Delivery Day), which really turned into a delivery week this year, but I digress)I want to take the time to issue a huge THANK you to everyone who donated funds, in-kind items, time and support to make PBL's second year a success. We raised $3,052 and were able to donate to 5 organizations:

1) La Casa Norte - http://www.lacasanorte.org/

2) Teen Living Programs - https://www.tlpchicago.org/

3) Stop-It  - http://salarmychicago.org/stopit/

4) Olive Branch Mission https://www.obmission.org/

and

5) You Can Make It - http://ycmi.publishpath.com/

PBL could not have done it without you and we are so deeply grateful.

Thank You

Thus, as we close up this month of Love and Black History, PBL is happy to  announce that we have MORE gifts to give away courtesy of one of your fellow supporters, and this time the gift is for YOU.

The wonderful Georgeina Driver, Owner at Luv That Scrub (http://www.luvthatscrub.com/) donated several sets of her handmade soaps to the Bleeding Love Campaign and several of you will be recipients of your very own set of six soaps. TODAY AT 6pm (central time) our President, Jessica Bell, will appear live on  Project Bleeding Love's facebook page to announce the winners of our Thank You raffle.

You don't not have to be watching to win, and those of you who donated anonymously are still eligible, but your privacy will be maintained. It's just our small way of saying thank you for all the support you've showed PBL and the community we serve.

Thank  you for making PBL's 2018 Campaign a success.

We'll see you at 6.

YOU DID IT!!!

Thanks to you Project Bleeding Love has met our $2500 goal and we still have THREE days left in the campaign.

It's been heartwarming to see the outpouring of love and support and I can't wait to share with you guys the results of your efforts.

Right now we're finalizing both our shopping list  and our list of recipients.

I can't wait to deliver all the products to the organizations we'll be working with, and I'll be sure to keep you all updated on the final tally.

Once again, from the Very Bottom of Our Hearts, Thank You.

We're $50 from our stated goal of $2500, which means It's almost time for my favorite part! The SHOPPING.

There's no thrill like dropping a couple of thousand dollars of Pads and Tampons.

I'll video the excursion so you all can join in the fun.

Thanks for all your support.
