Known as the Island of the Gods, Bali is a mesmerizing, sacred place where local women often greet you with their infectious smiles. Behind many of those smiles, however, are years of struggle and pain. Bali’s patriarchal society, causes divorced and infertile women to be ostracized from their community.
Ibu Sari, the founder of PKP Women’s Center, divorced 14 years ago and was;t able to raise her own daughter. After attempting suicide multiple times, Sari decided to turn her pain into something positive: PKP Women’s Centre. The mission of PKP Women's Centre is to empower and educate Balinese women to help them lead happy, fulfilling lives. PKP provides classes/job training (English, sewing, cooking, computer, etc), women empowerment (through yoga and meditation), and a supportive environment for women in difficult situations.
In order to provide these opportunities for women to grow and prosper, PKP needs your help! We are trying to raise $3,000 that will go directly towards education, activities, and supporting Balinese women and their families.
Let’s help these women grow, prosper, and receive the support that all women deserve. Suksama! Thank you!
