The Story

UPDATE:  Peanut's cancer is back and has been found in his lungs.  Please help if you can.  The vet is not giving a time frame but said it is not curable because the cancer is too advanced.

Peanut is such a loving boxer mix that came to my house a few years back.  He was just a puppy.  I took him & his companion in and cared for them as my own.  He is a very loving and playful dog.  A few months back, we came in from a walk and he was limping.  There didn't seem to be anything in his paw but as time went on, it got red.  I thought that sometime stung or bit him. Then he got to where he didn't want me to handle his leg and I thought maybe he hurt his hip.  But I couldn't afford to take him to the vet to have it checked.  Finally, months down the road and saving pennies, I took him to the vet.  I was horrified to find that the problem may be cancer.  I was told the leg had to be removed because the x-rays indicated possible cancer - but a painful and expensive biopsy would be the only way to say for sure.  The 2nd vet that I took him to said that the leg would need to be removed either way because of all the damage to the leg.  He lost a lot a muscle mass in the leg and can't put pressure on it anymore.  I actually got 3 different vets opinions on this (one was a specialist).  I posted this fundraiser to ask for help to pay to have his leg removed.  I wasn't able to raise enough money to pay for the entire surgery cost so I had to take out a loan (which I cannot afford) to pay for the surgery.  It couldn't wait.  I'm very grateful for the money that was raised by the 5 online supporters as well as the supporters not mentioned on this site.  There have been complications from the surgery and I continue to need assistance for these things.  Please help, Every Penny Matters.  Thank you in advance if you can help me with Peanut.

A couple of weeks ago, Peanut was throwing up blood. I rushed him to the vet! They had to take more x-rays which I couldn't afford - so I had to sign up for a year's program in order for him to be taken care of. The x-rays show thatthe cancer has rapidly and aggressively moved into his lungs. At this point there's only hope of a miracle. I changed his diet to add more protein and less carbs. I'm closely watching over him. Please pray for him and his human family. If you can make any donation it will be greatly appreciated.

I have uploaded pictures after the surgery and of the chest area that was affected due to an allergic reaction to penicillin given during the surgery.  The cost of the vet bills and medications are really expensive.  I still need assistance and truly appreciate any and all help anyone can give. Thanks!

Sorry it has taken so long to post an update but I've been busy caring for Peanut.  Peanut has had his surgery and had his leg removed.  It was cancerous.  He developed a couple of raw sores on his chest less than a week after the surgery.  The vet said it is an allergic reaction to the penicillin he was given during the surgery.  He is on a cream that must be rubbed onto the areas daily.  The cream is what is used on burn patients and he must also take another antibiotic twice a day.  He is on the second dose for both.  The area where his leg was removed looks fine.  But now I have to concentrate on the raw areas on his chest (some look like deep holes). I still need any help that anyone can afford.

A note to those who have helped so far, it has been greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

I will try to find time to upload the pictures that I've taken.
