The Worst News Possible: Mr. Boo had an ultrasound today, and he has malignant tumours throughout his bones that have spread to his spleen. It is just a matter of time until it invades his entire body. My mother made the difficult but humane decision to have him put to sleep. He will be euthanized this evening after the vet's working hours.
Both my mother and I are heartbroken and devastated. Mr. Boo was the sweetest, smartest, kindest kitty--he slept with my mom when she was ill, he played hide and seek with her (hysterical), he talked to her about his day, and loved nothing than to escape into the apartment hallways and run at top speed...for fun.
I will miss his charming mow-oo and his delicate moth-wing ears. I wish I could be there to usher him over the rainbow bridge, but I cannot, and we do not want to prolong his suffering.
So now we are left with nothing but memories....and the bill.
You are/were so very loved, Mr. Boo, by everyone who ever met you. We will never forget you. We'll meet again. Requiescat in pace.
