Lancaster High Kill Shelter is one of the worst in the state. They experience way more owner dumps than adoptions. Jennifer plssavestheanimals Sumner saves 40-50 dogs each month from there and sends them to reputable rescues mainly in WA and OR. They are adopted quickly there into loving homes. Jennifer priortizes the dogs she saves based on their urgency and and those considered less desirable in the High Desert. She does all of this with the help of pullers, networkers, trasnporters, etc. She can not do it without pledges as she covers all costs up-front. The rescues pay nothing to have the dogs delivered. She pays pull fees, temp boarding, vetting (often the dogs are ill and not fixed), and transort. Average cost per dog from start to finish is $250. $5,000 can save 20 lives that would be lost otherwise.
The shelter is packed and pledges are down. 50 dogs were killed on our Independence Day - puppies, cute fluffs, all highly adoptable in other places. Please donate to Jennifer's effort. All donations go to a dedicated PayPal account and are pooled to save more lives. Thanks!
