The Story

This morning while driving home, Dakota saw a poor little chinchilla be thrown from a moving car on a fast-moving freeway.  The poor, scared little critter scurried to the median and sat huddled up.  Thankfully Dakota was able to stop and scoop him up to save his life.  Due to the circumstances under which he was found, Dakota renamed him Freeway.

Currently, Freeway is on the road to recovery!  He is estimated to be about 2-years-old.  His four paws were torn open, bleeding, and full of gravel when Dakota first scooped him up.  He also has a double ear infection with puss draining out of both ears, an upper respiratory infection with raspy lung sounds, and is severly underweight.  Dakota will nurse him back to health and make sure he has proper medication and care so that he can become the happy, healthy chinchilla that he was meant to be.

If you could spare anything, even a dollar, to help out with his medical expenses and care, it would be greatly appreciated!  We all love our animals and would do anything to make sure that they are living the best life possible.  Please help Dakota make that the same reality for Freeway as he starts his life over in a proper, loving home!

Let me tell you about my night...

First off, there is a huge cow like creature that lives in the house. The human I believe calls her, "Bella". Well, most of the time. Sometimes it is "little shit head." You know, it varies.

The morning started off with more meds being squirted in my mouth, then goopy stuff in my ears, then my paws scrubbed, then back in the car for a dreaded car ride. Maybe it wasn't that bad, my head is starting to feel better and I don't try to take her finger off every time she touches my ear.

The car ride wasn't bad, I have a nice home at the vet too where we spend our days for now.

I greatly appreciate all of your help and well wishes. Mom says I can have a bigger cage once my feets are all heeled up and my fur grows back in on my back.

PS: The stinkeye is coming along nicely. One of the girls at said "work" is terrified of me so she let's me sit by the binders if I stare at her for long enough.

Whisker kisses!

We are doing better today!  Freeway stayed at the vet last night so that the staff could make sure that he was eating and drinking through the night.  Dakota is getting him a single level cage so that she can take Freeway home tonight.  Hopefully in two weeks Freeway's feet will be all healed up so he can be moved to a bigger, taller cage for all his hopping around fun and needs!

Thank you so much for the amazing support so far!!! It is greatly appreciated!!
