Good morning, everyone! We have some good news. Ruthie and her gang have arrived safely, thanks to the incredible families who shared the driving all the way from the Mississippi border. Ruthie is one of the gentlest, sweetest dogs we've ever met. She lets everyone love on her puppies and takes excellent care of them. She is being treated for a severe tick infestation, fleas, and some mild dehydration. Her blood test results are still pending, but the vet thought she looked pretty good considering her malnutrition.
The pups--who are about 7 days old--are in rough shape with urine burns and fleas, but they are well fed and otherwise acting like healthy 7 day olds. They will be seeing the vet this morning.
We are still very much in need of donations to help support their care. We could also use in-kind donations, including paper towels, laundry detergent, all natural cleaning products, puppy pens, towels, sheets, comforters, and fresh goat's milk or milk replacer. Please e-mail [email protected]
form more info about making an in-kind donation.
