The Story

Help us continue this billboard campaign!

"Milk comes from a grieving mother?quot; and, in January 2016, Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary is letting Denver know it. Giant billboards at 3 high profile locations in and around downtown can't be missed by hundreds of thousands of Western Stock Show attendees and other Denver visitors and residents. They'll be running throughout the month to coincide with the Stock Show and can be seen at 21st and Market St. across from Coors Field, on Colfax Ave across from the Auraria campus, and just east of the I-25 exit on 6th Ave. Billboard viewers will also be urged to "Go Vegan Now" in the bold, red letters that name the website where they can go to learn more. Colorado residents know that the Denver Western Stock Show, practically the cultural event of the year, is a big trade show for the animal agriculture industry that attracts the general public as well. With over half a million visitors and the media spotlight, this event garners a lot of attention. It is vital that we present a position counter to the celebration of animal agriculture by Denver civic leaders and the mainstream media. Thanks to an anonymous donor, these three billboards will run for the entire month. With your contribution, we can keep them up longer. Be a part of this incredible opportunity for highly visible 24/7 vegan outreach.

As always, our daily work for the individual animals here at the sanctuary continues in addition to our education and outreach campaigns. Your support makes our work possible... for the hundreds of animals fortunate enough to call Peaceful Prairie home, as well as the billions more who need our unwavering and diligent advocacy.

Thank You!

Ode to Justice

Part of my heart was broken today.

The world now seems smaller, forlorn and grey.

So many others share this grief,

Well understanding there'll be no relief.

His gravitas, dignity and wisdom to spare,

Was shared with those who came under his care.

With compassion and tenderness, he protected all,

Saw every need, heard every call.

How empty my gaze on that vast prairie space,

No more his grand beauty and consummate grace.

No more those wise eyes in that magnificent face.

How melancholy one feels without him in his place.

He led with love and was followed with same.

We'll always rejoice when saying his name   -  Justice!

Love,  Sarah 2016
