There is a video here which more accurately shows the extent of the problem (photos don't do it justice) I will be documenting the entire surgery process in this video series in the hope of helping others in a similar situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiD3gig6j-Y
So I have lost in total 203+lbs of weight and an unfortunate by-product of this process is my body is covered in approx. 13-15lbs of sagging, excess skin which I would really rather wasn’t there because it's pretty disgusting.
I am so close to finally being comfortable in my own skin but the issue I am having is the procedure is highly expensive and the NHS have repeatedly denied me the surgery so I am having to fund it myself.
There are pictures of the extent of the problem above in the gallery but they are a bit NSFW so tread with caution.
After having an initial consultation it has been determined that I need a Fleur-de-lis Abdominoplasty to fix all the skin around my midsection and a Gynecomastia (moob-lift) to realigm my nipples and cut away all the excess skin around my pecs. Both surgeries will be done at the same time as it works out at several thousand pounds cheaper.
I am going to be taking out a loan to cover the costs of the surgery but I have seen people try the crowdfunding route for any number of things and although it really is not an easy thing for me to do because I am quite a proud man, I saw one guy raise over £23,000 to replace all adverts in a London Underground station with pictures of cats for a week so ya never know!
(not even kidding: http://metro.co.uk/2016/09/12/every-advert-in-a-london-underground-station-has-been-replaced-with-cat-photos-6123655/)
I don’t expect to get anywhere even remotely close to the total needed but anything raised, be it £5, £50 or £500 will offset the debt I am going to incur by going ahead with the surgery.
I 100% get that some people won’t be interested in this or might be against this, and that’s totally cool, I wrestled with myself for a long time about whether this was cool or not and the last thing I want to do is pressure or guilt-trip people into donating but if you have a spare couple of quid you’d like to throw in then it would mean the world to me.
Cheers and (mostly non-alcoholic) beers!
(P.S. this site charges 0% fees, it relies on donations from contributors to keep going. This donation is completely optional but is added on as default when you donate to me so you need to press the "+£XXX to yougiving" link next your donation, press other amount and change it to £0.00 if you don't want to donate to them)
