Please Help United States Air Force Academy Cadet Third Class Paolo Reyes and His Family!
In the early morning hours on Sunday, January 15th, United States Air Force Academy Sophomore C3C Paolo Reyes was a victim of a tragic hit and run car accident in Colorado Springs, CO. He is currently in the hospital in the ICU in serious condition. His parents have traveled from their home in Saipan to be by his side but they need everyone’s help!
Cadet Reyes is an outstanding young man. He is active in many activities at the Academy, and has been on the Commandant’s and Dean’s List. He plans to be a pilot. He graduated from Kagman High School in Saipan as salutatorian. He was the recipient of CNMI Commissioner’s Award, and earned the gold medal for the President’s Education Award Program of Outstanding Academic Award. Reyes was also KHS’ Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps battalion commander for two straight years earning the rank of colonel and received the JROTC Commendation Medal. He was sponsored by Congressman Gregorio Sablan.
His father Pepito works as an architect at the Department of Public Works, while his mother Malou is an accountant at the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. Paolo is the youngest of three children. He has an older sister and an older brother who is in the Air Force stationed at Travis AFB. His parents, his brother, and his sister are by his side.
The Reyes Family is providing their support to Paolo by being at his side at the hospital in Colorado Springs. The flight tickets for the parents to travel to Colorado Springs in this emergency cost $3200 one way! They will have to purchase tickets for the flights back home. They also need our assistance with the temporary living costs that are associated with being away from their home in Saipan for an undetermined length of time. These expenses mount very rapidly and any funds raised will help defray the unexpected costs that are increasing.
Please donate, whatever you can, to help this outstanding young man and his family. The money raised goes directly to Cadet Reyes' parents. This site was created by several Academy parents at the specific request of his parents and family and they have approved it. This tragic accident could happen to anyone – cherish your loved ones and please help this family.
