Did you know 50% of the students at Palomar College in San Marcos are food insecure, meaning they struggle to afford and access nutritious and balanced meals?
In addition to partnering with food banks or CalFresh program, Palomar College has initiated many programs to provide students with free food, such as their food bank and weekly #PalomarEatsNow event on Thursdays.
- The food bank offers free food to eligible students.
- Students receive 10-15 pounds of food during a pantry visit.
- Students can access food to feed themselves and immediate family members.
- Students can supplement these emergency provisions through other free food programs on campus.
However, students are only able to access the food pantry once a month on an emergency basis. By donating to the food pantry, Palomar College will be able to purchase enough food & gift cards to aid students more regularly and lower their risk of food insecurity.
This campaign was created to help Palomar College combat their students' food insecurity. Support students who need to access to more healthy food, so they can focus on succeeding in school.
All funds raised will go directly to the Palomar College Food Bank.
