TTP is a rare disorder which causes tinyclots to form in the small blood vessels throughout the body. These small blood clots, called thrombi, can damage many organs including the kidneys, heart and brain. In the era before effective treatment, the fatality rate was about 90%. Unfortunately, my mother was affected by this disorder and lost her life to it. In her memory and in an effort to help the TTP community at large, I will be undertaking a trek to Everest Base Camp. With your support, I hope to raise money which will be donated to 2 instiutions: Answering TTP - the official TTP charity - and University College London, which carried out research into TTP.
