Ohio University's Student Social Work Association (SSWA) is attempting to raise at least $2,800 to feed 50 Athens, Ohio families with full Thanksgiving meals. Athens, existing in the heart of Appalachia, has a poverty rate of approximately 33%. This means that one out of every three families struggles to survive, living below the poverty line. Many parents are forced to choose between paying their bills and feeding their children. The SSWA wants to help, but we cannot do it alone. Your assistance is greatly needed to help these struggling families. Any and all donation amounts are welcome, and your funding helps needy Appalachian families receive a full meal and peace of mind. Give to your brothers and sisters, and let them know they are not alone in their struggle, and there are kind-hearted people in the world willing to help. Last year, the SSWA raised enough funds to serve 30 Appalachian families with full Thanksgiving meals. With your help, we can give even more families the Thanksgiving they deserve. Help, be the miracle that another family needs, and aid us in reaching our goal today!
