A bit of a back story…in 2010 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive breast cancer. Since my diagnosis I have undergone a bilateral mastectomy (and numerous other surgeries as a result of infection and reconstruction), chemotherapy, radiation and hospitalizations due to massive infections. I am currently still battling the aftermath of all of my treatments. In the process of working to be healthy our house has decided to invite a new guest………mold. We have two small bathrooms that have become overrun by mold. We knew that we had some mold but at the time (and still) our financial focus has been on medical bills. But now the mold has taken over and it has come to a point that we are more concerned with my health and healing—and the mold needs to be evicted. We are fortunate enough to have had the labor volunteered and I am thrilled that it is happening this weekend, OH MY GOSH, it is happening this weekend!!!! We have tile and a toilet already donated and we are so excited about that!!! Our subfloor is soaked through (squishy like a trampoline) and mold is literally growing through the walls. One of our bathrooms has a smell that we are guessing is mold related and I roll a towel and put it under the door to keep the smell in the bathroom and out of our bedroom. We have to replace most of the drywall, all of the floors, the vanities’, the fan (plus adding a fan to one bathroom), etc…. We really need financial assistance to help evict the mold. Anything you are able to donate would be great, every little bit counts.
