The Story

Typhoon Yolanda was one of the largest storms in history and it has devastated many of the communities that were in its path. Many people were killed and injured and most in the affected areas of the Typhoon are still struggling to survive due to the lack of available food, clean water, medicine, etc. These are our fellow Filipinos and it could just as well be us or our families in this dire situation. For those in a position to help, this is the time it is needed most.

Star and her friends are collecting donations.  100% of your donation will go directly to help the people of Mahaplag, Leyte with clean drinking water, rice, noodles, canned goods, and medicines. There are trucks waiting to be loaded with supplies for those in need, but money is needed to help keep the trucks rolling. Your donation will go directly to help fill a truck that is available for supplies. If you are in a position to help, please do.

I want to send a big thanks to all of the generous people who donated to our fundraising efforts to help the victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines. We received $430 US dollars (over 18,000 pesos) and 100% of this money went directly to the victims. The money was sent to our dear friends in Surigao, who used it to purchase rice, canned goods, noodles, bottled water and ready-to-eat snacks. These items were packed in individual containers for easy distribution and transported to Leyte. As you have probably seen, many of the victims in remote areas cannot easily be reached by the main distribution efforts by the Philippine government and other supporting countries, and that is where donations like yours really helps.

Your contributions allowed the purchase and distribution of the following:

Rice – eight  100 pound bags

Purified bottled water - 7 cartoons of 1 liter, and 3 cartoons of 5 ml

Canned goods

May God bless you for your generosity during the time of this tragedy. You made life a little easier for those who received this gift of compassion, and those who received it will know there are people on the other side of the world who care about them.
