After years of being away from her beloved Bay Area and cut off from the medical access she needs to survive with her Lyme infection, femme poet activist Fran Varian is finally coming home. She's lined up affordable and safe housing in a beautiful home with a trusted friend and looks forward to being enveloped by her queer family.
Living daily with disability, especially in a state like North Carolina, has made struggling to make ends meet a daily juggle of impossible tasks. Here in the Bay Area, she will have access to expanded medical coverage and also to the healers, meditation and medicinal Love she's been starving for these past years. She just needs a little help getting here.
Because travel is hard on disabled bodies, and the safe transport of Fran's animal family is so important, moving options were limited. We decided to send the majority of Fran's belongings along via POD. On 3/27/15, Justin and Evan plan to pick Fran and her fur babies up in an RV and spend the next several days crossing the US.
