As you know, the Cortez family has recently been under fire for reaching out to those in the LGBT community, who have been marginalized far too long. And while their actions have come at a great price, the Cortezes are at peace; they know this cause is more important now than ever.
And if you know Danny like we do, this is not out of character for him. He's been standing in the gap, and seeking truth, and fighting for justice, and defending the widow, and loving the homeless—for years and years. He leads his family, he shepherds a church, and he has been there for you and me when we've needed him most. For good reason, we call him pastor.
Now you and I have an opportunity to stand in the gap for him.
You are receiving this message because you are a friend, a loved one, a brother, a sister to Danny and his son Drew. In light of the recent events, of his standing in the gap of our LGBT brothers and sisters, Danny and Drew have been formally invited to a reception with the President at the White House in Washington, D.C. (Yes, you heard right! The White House!). This will take place on June 30.
Now, they have considered not going—but only because they lack the funds to get there.
You and I can help. By coming together, by donating, we can help them get to the White House. No amount is too big, or too small. Any amount will do: $25, $50, $100! Just imagine if two hundred of us made a $25 donation; we could get them there, no problem. It doesn't take much, but it doestake you and me. Whatever funds are raised will pay for airfare, food, transportation, and lodging.
Would you consider joining me in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Let’s get Danny and Drew to the White House!
