This fundraiser was started to help support Orah Mital Habosha in her recovery from a traumatic brain injury. Nine and a half years ago, Orah Mital was a healthy teenager enjoying the summer and in one second her life was changed forever. On August 3, 2007 at the young age of fifteen Orah Mital was involved in a horrible car accident in which she sustained a traumatic brain injury.
Please for a second close your eyes and think back to when you were fifteen. What was your biggest worry? what did you think about? Did you picture your wedding day or what life would bring in the years to come? I’m sure my friend had a lot to look forward to. Unfortunately, her life has never been the same. Can you imagine having to fight for your life, or waking up to find that what once came so easy for you is now an unimaginable struggle? It’s been almost ten years since my beautiful friend has walked or spoken. She is aware of what has been taken from her and is fighting every day to do the things that come so easy to us.
Orah Mital is the most caring, sensitive and smartest girl I am lucky enough to know. She deserves every chance to keep progressing. All the money raised will go towards her physical therapy sessions as well as any other therapy she needs to help her on her road to recovery. For my friend the two hours twice a week at physical therapy gives her something to look forward too. Some time to remember what it’s like to stand on her own two feet.
Brain injury treatments are expensive, but why should anyone have to be limited to how much they can progress due to money? Doesn’t everyone deserve the right to get better? The accident might have happened almost ten years ago but Orah Mital suffers from it on a daily basis. She has never given up on progressing and this page is a way to remind her that neither have we! Every dollar counts! We are so grateful to all the amazing people that think about Orah Mital and donate to her cause.
