The Story

In honor of Bellamy's birthday on February 19, 2018, I wanted to raise funds for Operation Blankets of Love in her name. Animal advocacy is very near and dear to Bellamy's heart. What better way to mark her birthday by donating funds to one of her most beloved charities, Operation Blankets of Love. I have spoken personally with Eileen who is the founder of OBOL and she's very excited for this. ALL DONATED FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TO OBOL!

When we donate funds, this will help them collect nutritious food, treats, blankets, towels, pet beds, leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, pet clothes and other critical supplies to more than 1,000 homeless animalsin shelters, rescue groups, pets of the homeless and wildlife sanctuaries.

OBOL also has other programs that these funds will support:
To read more about the many programs they offer, please visit their website and click on 'Our Programs'. OBOL does SO much. These funds will help in countless ways.

As of now, the goal is $500. I would love this to be spread all over social media to allow for bigger audiences to see the fundraiser with the hopes that more can be collected over time. I chose those moderate goal as a starting point. This will go to the 19th of February, but it can be extended!

You can donate ANY amount, whether it be $1 or $25. ANY AMOUNT COUNTS and it all adds up. If you cannot donate, don't worry. At least share this fundraiser because the more people that see it, the more we can raise in Bellamy's name and provide all these items for the animals. You can also donate blankets and the above mentioned items to your local shelter as well!

While this isn't a gift that can be handed to Bellamy personally, I do believe providing for the animals is one of the best 'gifts' to give her.

Donations can be tax-deductible!

Any questions, please email: [email protected] or DM me on twitter @BYoungWeb

  • Helping Veterans with Pets - OBOL also assists veterans with pets, including veterans who are homeless, as well as service dogs. Funds will go towards food, blankets, pet beds, leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, pet clothes, and other critical supplies. You can read more about this program here
  • Animal Relocation Project - The OBOL Animal Relocation Project provides comfort and care items such as blankets, towels, food, treats, leashes, collars, toys, carriers and more to rescue groups and animal shelters that save dogs and cats from euthanization These groups transport them from overcrowded shelters to no-kill facilities and loving homes across America. Thank you to everyone who has donated! I increased the goal to $1,000 after meeting our goal of $500 sooner than expected. But I'd love to donate as much as possible so more animals can receive the items they need and also very much deserve. Every day I'll post about OBOL's programs so you know the many ways they provide for the animals and their 'humans'.

Homeless People’s Pets Outreach Program

Pets offer the homeless joy, a sense of family, and emotional comfort. OBOL is one of the few organizations that assist struggling pet owners by helping their pets. OBOL is committed to the human-pet bond and the benefits that bond brings.

OBOL donates nutritious food, blankets, pet beds, leashes, collars,

harnesses, toys, pet clothes and other critical supplies to keep pets of the homeless happy and healthy, thus allowing them to stay with their loving, human companions, rather than being relinquished to overpopulated shelters with high euthanasia rates.

No homeless person should have their pets taken away because they can’t afford the necessary supplies for their pets’ survival. No pets should go hungry, be uncomfortable or suffer. That is what OBOL is successfully

working to alleviate, reaching out on a weekly basis to neighborhoods with high homelessness rates. We deliver quality pet food for dogs and cats to ensure they receive proper nutrition. The leashes and collars are safety items to ensure that pets can be safely contained in high-traffic areas.

SPREAD THE WORD! Even if you can't donate (which is understandable), please at least share the fundraiser (retweet or post the link itself) to help spread the word so we can reach our goal. While this isn't a gift that goes directly TO Bellamy, it helps the animals -- something she is very passionate about. So let's do this in honor of her, her example and her birthday! Even $1 makes a difference!
