Goldie is a 10 year old terrier mix that is part of the One Last Treat "Vet Friend at the End" program, which places senior dogs with veterans so the veteran can provide a loving home for the animal's last years. Goldie is a senior, but a relatively young senior. She suffers from diabetes and as a result is completely blind. One Last Treat will take care of this gal for the rest of her days medically and we hope to soon find a veteran to take her in their home and give her a good end of life, but in the mean time we we feel there is more that we can do for little Goldie. Like we said she is a relatively young senior and there is a good chance she will live 4-5 more years! We would love to make those years the best they can be and give her the gift of sight! So the Treat Team is asking for support in completing our mission. Please help Goldie see again! We have had our initial consult and goldie is cleared to go for surgery!! Since Goldie had an elevated pressure in her right eye we needed to schedule her surgery quick before damage in that eye occurs and she can no longer have surgery. So we have an surgery date of October 11th! That means we she needs as much help as she can get by then so we can move forward! Estimated total cost of surgery and care is between $ 3,711-$4,462 . She will also need medication for her eyes for life as well that One Last Treat will cover. Please make a donation to our YouCaring page to give Goldie the gift of sight:)
