The Story

Olly is battling for his life... again.

Oliver Ajluni (aka SuperBean) and his family thought they beat his cancer the first time.

He was diagnosed with Multi System High Risk Langerhan Cell Histiocytosis- a very rare cancer of the immune system, on Dec 23, 2011 at the age of 18 months. He fought hard and with lots of complications put it into remission. He was finally stable from all the side effects of his treatment in Aug of 2014- he was 4 years old.

He, then, cheered his mom on through her battle with breast cancer which started in Nov of 2014.

When she went into remission and was finally stable from all of HER complications and side effects in March of 2016, he started feeling sick again at age 5...

Olly's cancer has come back, with a vengeance.  Already, just since starting treatment back up in June of 2016- at age 6, he has had three chemos fail him. His cancer has now moved into his central nervous system... from here, there will not be a second remission. The doctors are trying a pretty radical approach to try to halt this new development and give the Ajluni family some more precious time with their SuperBean.

As you can imagine, fighting 3 cancer battles back to back in 5 years is trying on a family. This is a tight knit family of 7, Oliver is the youngest sibling. Their pride and finances have taken a huge hit... and now a bigger blow. Olly's treating hospital is 330miles from home, and the start of this new treatment was supposed to take 3 days. They were informed that during the induction phase of this treatment and possibly beyond- at least a full 5 weeks or more, Olly should not go far from the hospital. This means that he cannot go home. He and his mom are stuck so far from home, with only 3 days worth of supplies. They are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, but even that is not without expense. Add to this, that Olly's mom will not be able to return to work and will have to take care of him in increasing detail until... well, until this monster is finished as there is no cure, and Olly's Dad now has had to take on a 4th job and they are still working hard to make ends meet in one location.. and now they are split into two.

We are asking for help with medical and living expenses for Olly and family. Right now, the most pressing need is for the Ronald McDonald House, which is not free contrary to popular belief. It's very very low cost, but even the $20 per day price for 5 weeks at least, is going to be steep for this family that has to budget to the penny every month just to keep the lights on and the rent current. Also, Olly has food allergies and they need the appropriate groceries to keep him nutritionally sound during this time.

Please consider helping them financially, and if you can't... please pray for the family.

Thank you.

Olly as had some great days, and some not so great days lately. His doctors want him to have some more scans and tests. They say while he doesn't seem to be getting any better, they want him to have some improvements. So we may be looking at yet another treatment change.
We are having to travel to San Diego early for these scans and that means not having a guaranteed place to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. We need to be able to cover meals a d a hotel... and that's just not possible right now. Any help youyou can give would be greatly appreciated!

Olly is tolerating this new chemo well. He does have some reactions, but they are manageable.
He has started fainting when changing position or when startled. They endocrinologist and oncologists are trying to figure it out.
The doctors have decided we can go home for the weekend.... but we have to come back next Tuesday for the first IVIG treatment just in case he has a bad reaction.... so yet more travel.... but, HE IS WORTH IT!
I want to thank everyone who has helped us so far, we have managed to keep both home and hospital afloat AND we paid off the remaining balance on a major medical bill, that is such a stress relief! Thank you all so so much.

The doctor told me today: "Now is the time to make memories, for Olly, with Olly, for yourselves, with your other kids... before the inevitable arrives and you will be too wrapped up in his care and then after."
I can't tell you how much this floored me. We have been just barely scraping by, barely making ends meet.
We have paid bills, and are surviving in 2 separate locations right now... but how do we make memories like that? For example, we were given Legoland tickets... which is AWESOME! But travel to and from, hotel, food, etc while we'really there makes that an impossible thing right now... how can we do something like that with everything else looming? There are things that we feel we should do to make these memories. But we just cannot afford it. Thank you all for your love and support... we are so grateful.
