We here at Okefenokee Humane Society are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides for the dogs and cats in Ware County through shelter and adoption services, spaying and neutering, and humane education. OHS has been sheltering and rehoming animals in Waycross since 1980. We have always worked our hardest to contribute to providing a safe and caring haven for all - large, small, abused, neglected or abandoned. Over the years our facilities have gotten worn down from the massive intake of animals each year. Our kennels are always full. We do as much and the best that we can. We are currently collecting donations to put toward rejuvenating and renovating the humane society. To meet the challenges that we face, we are reaching out to ask for help. YOU can help us to face these challenges! Your donation will directly assist with the betterment of the shelter environment and the welfare of the animals in our care. With this opportunity, we will be able to help and provide for almost two thousand animals every year. This means a great deal to us and to our community, and we hope it means a lot to you as well.
Please consider joining other animal lovers in Ware County and giving any amount that you can afford to help these pets. Anything helps! All of us at OHS (Okefenokee Humane Society) would be so grateful, and so would our furry friends! In the end, it is about saving animals in our community that have no other hope and giving them a new life. It always has been and always will be.
