Founded in the fall of 2001, the Northwest Repertory Singers (NWRS) are a premier vocal ensemble whose mission is to enrich and educate through the presentation of creative choral repertoire performed at the highest artistic level. NWRS has quickly become one of the Puget Sound region’s most revered choral ensembles. Please visit our website for more details about our background and upcoming projects! www.nwrs.org
On June 9, we are celebrating the storied career of our founder and artistic director, Dr. Paul Schultz.
This will be Dr. Schultz's final concert as our director, and we intend to send him off with a flourish!
Under Dr Schultz's leadership, our group has enjoyed multiple opportunities to present well-known major works with Orchestra, as well as premiere new pieces.
This evening's program will include both elements.
We will feature several works by world-renowned composer Morten Lauridsen, the most significant being the magnificent 'Lux Aeterna'. The group will also present premiere works by Donna Gartman Schultz, and David Schultz.
All three composers are scheduled to attend, and they each plan to discuss their compositions prior to the concert.
The prospect of working with a symphony orchestra is an exciting, but major undertaking. The cost to put this concert together is significant! We look forward to working with members of Symphony Tacoma, and need your help to cover the costs.
By sponsoring an artist, you'll help bring a night of unforgettable music to life. By supporting this project (even in a small way) you will help ensure the continuity of this group for years to come.
What We Need & What You Get
To make this concert happen, we need to raise a minimum of $5000. We have several perks available for you if you are willing to help underwrite this project:
For a $300 contribution: We will put your name on the chair of a symphony member of your choice.
For a $200 contribution: We will invite you to a choir rehearsal and give you treats and coffee while you get a preview of the concert and a special mini-lecture from director Paul Schultz.
For a $100 contribution: We will provide a commemorative program, including autographs from the composers and our Artistic Director!
For a $50 contribution: We will include you as a 'sponsor' of the soon-to-be-released promotional video for NWRS!
For a $15 contribution: We will include both NWRS professionally recorded CDs, 'Strike the Harp, Ring the Bells, Sound the Oboe', and 'Gloria: Christmas with Brass and Choir"
For a $10 contribution: We will include one of the two CDs listed above.Funds raised will help cover the expenses of this June concert. Our target is to cover as much of the costs of the concert as we can through this campaign.
The Impact: The career of our Artistic Director has covered more than five decades, and has impacted the lives of hundreds (maybe even thousands) of individuals. Bringing this group of quality composers and musicians together in one venue to celebrate this milestone, and present a send-off with a big 'flourish' is a wonderful opportunity to personally experience the power of Choral music. The emotions one experiences during a live performance are unique and affirming. We hope to see you at this concert! This concert promises to combine highlights from eighteen years of the NWRS organization, as well as a glimpse into the future of this high-quality group.
Other Ways You Can Help: If you are unable to contribute financially at this time we hope you'll support us by attending the concert, and by passing information about this fundraising campaign on to other interested individuals.
