The Story

Meet Genesis! This very sweet girl was found abandoned, tied to a pole and left for dead on the streets of Philadelphia. Genny has a severe head wound and will be in need of extensive vet care. It also appears that her eye has been affected as it is clouded over. Her photos are very graphic and the trauma this sweet girl has endured is heartbreaking!

Despite having such a severe injury to her head, Genny remains calm, sweet and very gentle. Genny is loving the attention she is receiving and is very eager to cuddle. She was just pulled from a high-kill shelter and is safe in a loving foster home.

Genesis is going to be in need of extensive vet care to include debridement of her wound, antibiotics and more than likely surgery. This is not going to be an easy process and the rescue desperately needs help to pay for her care.

We are dedicated to providing Genesis with whatever care she may need and prepare her to have a happy, stable life with a furever family that will fit her needs.  Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue is a 501c3 organization and donations made to the care of Genesis are tax deductible.  As always, we thank everyone for their support!

PUPDATE: GENESIS
12/30/13, 1PM vet appointment

Genesis got her sutures removed from her spay and her facial wound surgery. It looks absolutely wonderful! Her eye still has a slight bluish tinge to it from the corneal ulcer, and that may never go away, however she did get another refill on her eyedrops as both as are still pretty red and oozy.

She has also gained 6 lbs in 11 days and is looking a LOT more healthy! She will be rechecked again in a couple weeks unless there are any other problems.

We thank you SO much for all of your continued support.

PUPDATE: Genesis
12/19/13, 10AM

Genesis was officially discharged from the hospital today! She was pretty excited to get into foster care and get settled. She said her sweet goodbyes to all the friends she made at Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, who took amazing care of her during her week-long stay. She will be going back to visit everyone there in 10 days for her suture removal.

Thank you all for your support and prayers for Genny! Stay tuned for more updates and check out her photo album for her "freedom day" pictures!
