100% of your generous donation will be used to support upcoming travel and accommodations for 6 disabled, orphaned children to travel to Oahu for the surf trip of a lifetime from March 15-19, 2015. This is the 2nd Annual surf trip, growing from the successful trip in 2014. Once they arrive in Honolulu, these 6 kids will be taught to surf, exposed to Hawaiian culture, and through their experiences grow more confident in themselves during this a once in a lifetime experience. The participants from last year grew so much that they are now experiencing life with a newfound vigor and zest that only an experience like this can provide.
Please consider a small donation, every dollar will make a huge difference towards making this trip happen.
Please provide an email address so we can share with you the bliss these kids will feel through photos captured on the trip. Thank you in advice for helping to support a confidence building journey that these orphans will build on to lead a more inspired life.
Ocean's Loveis a surf school for children with mental and physical disabilities. Whether it’s the healing nature of the ocean itself or a reminiscent feeling of kinship to when we were carried in the womb by our mothers, during pregnancy; calmer ocean waters simply provide a unique tranquility and sense of fun that few other mediums provide.
Today, the charity’s mission is to provide unique waterborne experiences for special needs kids and their loved ones. Thus Ocean’s Loveis creating a society via specific ocean borne events, in which people interact with disabled children as they surf, play and revitalize in and around the healing waters of Pacific Ocean. In an effort to understand them more deeply, as they experience surfing or revitalize in the healing ocean as they play.
Angela Maki Vernon, a Japanese/Hawaiian resident (former model and current surfer), started this non-profit in 2005. She has a disabled family member and other special needs children in her life and therefore, decided more than 10-years ago, to step up and make a difference. Her first event, was at Chigasaki school in the Kanagawa Prefecture, and was only once per year. Today, the charity works with schools all over Japan. The organization is one of pure love and consists of children, parents, volunteers and sponsors from all over the world.
All financial support is tax deductible; Ocean’s Love is a certified non-profit organization in Japan.
Please support our smiling children!
