We are the Tawawmi Children's Project and we ask your help in raising funds to build a grammar school in Tanzania. We were founded in 2012 by three New Jersey residents following a mission trip to Africa by one of our founders to teach children there.
The children she encountered in Mwanza, Tanzania lack an adequate school and supplies. Many of the children have been impacted or orphaned by HIV/AIDS. The area is very impoverished with many families living in tin huts and raising cows and chickens as their source of income.
So far, our organization has been able to pay the rent for the current open air school, as well as buy books, blackboards, and toothbrushes and toothpaste for the students. We have also provided 5 cows and 33 chickens to the village.
We ask you to please help us build a real school by giving whatever you can spare. Donations can also be sent to: The Tawawami Children's Project, 261 White Riad, Little Silver, NJ 07739. Thank you!
