The Story

In addition to being a resort destination, Aspen Lodge is home to Master Yun Xiang Tseng (Chen), a 25th generation Longman Taoist Priest of 14th generation Wu Dang Zhang San Feng tradition. It is a center for Taoist study, a collective center of all religions and beliefs, attracting students and visitors from around the world. The sacred grounds at Aspen Lodge will be home to the future Yu Xu Taoist Temple, the first Taoist temple in the United States.

On September 12, 2013 at approximately 10pm, torrential rains from a storm over central Colorado created a massive catastrophic event over Twin Peaks near Estes Park, Colorado. Mud and trees destroyed everything in its path and eventually reached the Aspen Lodge Resort and Spa, causing devastating destruction to the infrastructure, cabins, stables and lake. Many of the employees living on the property have been displaced. Thankfully, no one was injured but the situation remains critical. The Lodge water system was destroyed and those living there are without clean running water, hot water, and a sewage system.

This beautiful property, of over 80 acres, is currently covered with 3 feet of mud and debris. A massive clean up of the property and surrounding areas, as well as rebuilding the road and water systems, is needed as soon as possible.

Please join our efforts to rebuild this community. Each and every donation, regardless of size, will have a profound impact on restoration and preservation of this beautiful area.

All donations to the Fund are tax-deductible.

Thank you for any support you can give - whether a donation, a thought, or a prayer.

Blessings to you!

Greetings and Happy Double 9th to everyone!

This is a special time to acknowledge the blessings of life and opportunity that we've received from those who came before us.  Hope you are able to connect with all the positive energy around you today.

We've been asked about status of fundraising for Master Chen's Aspen Lodge.  Thanks for the excellent initial response.  The total from the website

http://www.youcaring.com/nonprofits/colorado-disaster-relief-for-sacred-ground-at-aspen-lodge/89452

plus the direct contributions is near $32,000.  In addition, many hours of personal labor have been donated.  It's wonderful to see so many "chip in" to help.  This really shows that Master Chen's Colorado Project is "our" project.

We have made a good start, but the challenge is still great.  Yes, we still need to forward the links, talk to our friends, give a few more dollars, invest a few more hours of work, or anything else to make a difference.

Thank you for personally accepting the challenge of keeping this snowball rolling.

Blessings to you!
