The Story

In addition to being a resort destination, Aspen Lodge is home to Master Yun Xiang Tseng (Chen), a 25th generation Longman Taoist Priest of 14th generation Wu Dang Zhang San Feng tradition. It is a center for Taoist study, a collective center of all religions and beliefs, attracting students and visitors from around the world. The sacred grounds at Aspen Lodge will be home to the future Yu Xu Taoist Temple, the first Taoist temple in the United States.

On September 12, 2013 at approximately 10pm, torrential rains from a storm over central Colorado created a massive catastrophic event over Twin Peaks near Estes Park, Colorado. Mud and trees destroyed everything in its path and eventually reached the Aspen Lodge Resort and Spa, causing devastating destruction to the infrastructure, cabins, stables and lake. Many of the employees living on the property have been displaced. Thankfully, no one was injured but the situation remains critical. The Lodge water system was destroyed and those living there are without clean running water, hot water, and a sewage system.

This beautiful property, of over 80 acres, is currently covered with 3 feet of mud and debris. A massive clean up of the property and surrounding areas, as well as rebuilding the road and water systems, is needed as soon as possible.

Please join our efforts to rebuild this community. Each and every donation, regardless of size, will have a profound impact on restoration and preservation of this beautiful area.

All donations to the Fund are tax-deductible.

Thank you for any support you can give - whether a donation, a thought, or a prayer.

Blessings to you!

Greetings and Happy Double 9th to everyone!

This is a special time to acknowledge the blessings of life and opportunity that we've received from those who came before us.  Hope you are able to connect with all the positive energy around you today.

We've been asked about status of fundraising for Master Chen's Aspen Lodge.  Thanks for the excellent initial response.  The total from the website

plus the direct contributions is near $32,000.  In addition, many hours of personal labor have been donated.  It's wonderful to see so many "chip in" to help.  This really shows that Master Chen's Colorado Project is "our" project.

We have made a good start, but the challenge is still great.  Yes, we still need to forward the links, talk to our friends, give a few more dollars, invest a few more hours of work, or anything else to make a difference.

Thank you for personally accepting the challenge of keeping this snowball rolling.

Blessings to you!

Dear friends,

Just came back from Colorado from an extraordinary training with Master Chen and a group of amazing people. I had a chance to visit Aspen Lodge and was thrill to see how much cleaning has been done already. Unfortunately the property is not open to the public and there are still a lot to be done, but the place continues to be beautiful, magical and very special.

We are looking for the day when the doors will open again. Your contributions, prayers, volunteer work are crucial to help rescue this sanctuary and bring to fruition the vision of Master Chen to build a Daoist temple and healing center in the area. This property is for us all. It is a place to connect within, heal, calm the mind, return to simplicity and live our true nature.

Thank you for your contribution. Please take another step and invite a friend, a family member to join you and us in this effort to rescue Aspen Lodge.

In service and gratitude,

Thank you Rhonda, Adam and Dave! We appreciate your generosity and contribution.

Love and blessings,

This weekend Adam Louie, Dave and myself had a garage sale from 9a-4p. My mom and girlfriend donated items to sell as well. Adam did an awesome job wheeling and dealing to sell our goods. One customer asked if she could bring Adam home with her as he loaded the items she bought into her car. All proceeds are going to Aspen Lodge relief fund. Sending in my check today.

Dear Friends,
This is a brief update on the Aspen Lodge progress.  The cleanup has begun.  Though much is on the list, each day is a step forward
Some much appreciated donations are starting to arrive by paypal and mail.  Through the next 6 months, it's unlikely that the lodge will be generating much if any revenue.  The contributions help make up for these missing months.
Several of our family have put together a website to make tax deductible contributions easier.  All available funds generated will be sent to Master Chen.  Please take a look at the link.
You can provide a great service if you would write a little note and forward the link to others.  If we can go viral with the site, even small contributions can add up quickly.
If you have a website or a blog please consider add a widget. You just copy the code below and place it in the HTML of  your blog or website. That is a great way to telling more people about our cause. Thanks for all assistance in getting the word spread.

The energy of your supporting thoughts and prayers are being felt.  Thank you for that as well.
All donations to the Fund are tax-deductible.
Best in health and Qi,
Alan Holt

Dear friends,

The next major Chinese celebration after the recent mid Autumn Festival is the double 9th...the 9th day of the 9th lunar month.  Traditionally it is a time to celebrate the lives one's ancestors, climbing mountains, and enjoying chrysanthemums.
The date for this year is October 13.  In honor of our Taiji, QiGong, etc. family and the creators of the knowledge both here and in China, here is my double 9th vision and challenge for central Texas.
Let's have at least 54 ( 6 x 9; 5 + 4) of us contribute money or time to "climb the challenges of the Colorado mountain."
For those contributing money, please consider a multiple of $9 ($9, $18, etc) to commemorate  the celebration and the season.  Double 9's ($99) or greater would really help, but a key for this challenge is to get at least 54 of us involved.  For those who are able to provide $99 or more in donations or volunteer labor, you will receive a limited edition "Double 9" t-shirt.
To meet the goal, we need 45 more of you to step up.  Please take the time today to join us.  We have only until October 13 to join the double 9's.

Blessings to all
