Dear friends,
We are an international family that now lives in Malmö, Sweden - mum Ikko is Japanese, dad Kenneth is Swedish and our dear daughter Nikki was born in New Zealand! Until April last year we lived in Hastings, UK, where Nikki went to school and still has some very good friends.
Nikki had been healthy and well all her life, but on July 11 2016 she fell ill three days before her 14th birthday and we got one of the most devastating blows any parent can get - "your daughter has a severe brain tumour that cannot be operated and we (the Swedish healthcare) do not have the means to cure her"...
Since that day, our lives have been in chaos with an unbearable rollercoaster of emotions - feeling bad both physically and psychologically!
Nikki is a sweet, quiet and innocent teenage girl that 'would not hurt a fly', she lets everybody pass through a door, before she would go herself. However, she has proven to be a fighter, when facing a lot of hardship and although her Swedish doctors have given up all hope (already in Feb!), she and we have not!!
There are promising treatments in London and Mexico, where the doctors are devoted and specialists in this terrible dipg disease. Although it is the toughest battle, there are more and more success stories of kids reaching a "no evidence of disease" state. We so dearly want Nikki to get there too!!
Unfortunately, the costs are more than a normal person/ family can afford with treatment costs alone above £200'000, which is why we kindly ask for any donation, big or small, all donated funds + more will be spent on Nikki and her treatments and for that we are forever grateful!!!
I have taught Nikki a lot of fun stuff - how to ski, bicycle, swim etc, and I have promised to teach her driving (although my driving sometimes makes both her and her mum carsick) and most of all to take her "down under" - to beautiful N.Z. where she came to the world as the most beautiful baby! We/I need your help in order to fulfil these promises and to give Nikki the treatment she needs and deserves.
Please help us save Nikki and please share this and her facebook group; Nikki's braintumour fight to as many as you can.
Take good care of each other and make the best out of every day!
Lots of Love
Ken, Ikko & Nikki
