First off, thank you for taking the time to check out this page! I am so excited about this missions opportunity to both Fiji and Samoa in November of 2017. A group from my church, Bible Baptist Church
of Oak Harbor, Washington, will be heading down to Fiji for a period of ten days. There will be many services held during the time we are there, with opportunities to minister and serve in multiple ways. We will be doing outreach in the community as well, telling as many people as possible about the Gospel and the blessed hope that we have in Christ Jesus.
I have been here once before... In 2014, my youth group took a missions trip to Samoa, and on the way back we had a very short layover in the beautiful country of Fiji. Even though I was only there for a few hours, it was one of the highlights of the trip for me. The people were beyond welcoming and friendly, and it amazed me how many brothers and sisters in Christ we have all over the world. Wherever you go, you will find friends among His followers! I am so looking forward to the chance to go back and spend some more time with them.
After the 10 days in Fiji, a friend and I will be taking a flight to Samoa for around a week. We have both wanted to go back since the last trip, and when we realized we could both go together after the visit to Fiji was over, we jumped at the chance! While in Samoa, we will be staying with some dear friends that we met on our last trip. We will be able to fellowship with the church there, possibly ministering in music as well as children's Sunday School, and generally helping out wherever we are needed.
The main financial need involved in this trip is that of airfare. Flying overseas is not cheap, especially when making multiple flights. If you are able to help with the funding for this, I would appreciate it so much!
Much more importantly than that, however, is the need for prayer. There are so many precious opportunities that we will have throughout the course of this trip, and Satan will want to trip us up in whatever ways possible. Whether through sickness or poor attitudes on the part of team members...pray that the will of God will not be hindered! May He receive all the glory through the things done on these trips. Thank you for your prayers and support! God bless!
