The Story

My daughter Emma has cerebral Palsy witch affects her legs, she might be able to walk one day, but the way there is painfull.

This was proven to me today (21/01/16) when we took her to her first Botox treatment.

As a father this was one of the most painfull things i have ever had to do.

My wife and i have done reaserch on this, and the Botox injection is extremely painfull (even with drugs)

She had to have three injections in each calf.
On the fist needle she looks at me and her eyes starts to tear up and she says "it`s gonna be ok" in a baby like angel voice.
On the second needle she is crying and screaming "done now.. done now"..
On the third needle there is just crying and screaming.... and looking at me and mom with a look that says "help me"

And there was shit all i could do except cry and hold her hand..

I wouldn`t wish this experience on my worst enemy, a child should not know this pain, a child should play and be happy.

So i am going to try to raise money for a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.

All in all we need 35000 GBP or as much as possible to be able to afford this.

So as much i hate begging.. i am begging, but not for me. but for Emma.

And with this the fundraiser will end :) with the goal reached in total along side the Norwegain fundraiser we also had going.

All in all we raised 480.000 NOK. enough to cover the surgery, hotel, flight and food while in St. Louis.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us get here, and i am really sorry that i can`t say thank you myself in person, but know that you are with us when we go and that we are forever greatfull for what you all have done for us.

The goal is reached!!

We recived a donation of 20.000 NOK (1900 GBP) last night, as well a few minor donations directly to Emmas bank account .

With that we have raised the 460.000 NOK (44.000 GBP ) needed for surgery, travel to and from St. Louis and hotel :)

We are leaving 1100 ish gbp on the fundraiser as it dawned on us that dad and Emma needs to eat something aside from breakfast (free with hotel) and dad does not get any kind of payment from benefits or anything else while in St. Louis.

BUT WE REACHED THE GOAL!! and we have everyone here , you to thank for every donation, big and small and we owe you all for a lifetime.. we can`t meet you all in person, but know it means the world to us that you chose to be part of the fundraiser that will let our little girl walk, be painfree and live as close to a normal life as a person with CP can.

i will be posting more as we keep going , even after we are done with the fundraiser, but to keep track of Emma`s progress, see www.facebook.com/emmaswalk
