URGENT: Mother of the Bronx 120 faces eviction after police raid!
On April 27, 2016 some 700 NYPD and federal authorities executed the largest ‘gang’ raid in New York City’s history, in Eastchester in the northern Bronx. 120 young men were indicted. As a result of that raid some family members are now facing eviction. The law behind these evictions is called Permanent Exclusion. For years many groups and individuals have been attempting to get rid of this law, which gives NYCHA the authority to ban people permanently from housing, even without a conviction in court.
Now a mother of six children is facing eviction and the prospect of moving her family into a homeless shelter. This amazing woman has been helping to spread awareness about the Bronx 120 ever since her son was taken in the raid last year.
Please help her out by donating to this fundraiser and spreading it around to your networks. If you want to help get involved or learn more, please visit www.bronx120.org or email [email protected]
