Mní Wičhóni Nakíčižiŋ Owáyawa is serving the children and families of the protectors camp community who choose home education. Located in Oceti Sakowin camp the school offers lessons in Lakota language and tradition as well as traditions taught by members of the many tribes that are here, core subjects, and workshops on other topics from volunteers that visit. If you are interested in helping at the resource school please call (701)390-9163 to learn how.
Due to overwhelming generosity we no longer have a need for traditional school supplies but we do have an ongoing need for financial support. In addition to the funds needed for operating expenses, we are working on collecting enough to purchase a solar and wind rig for our buildings as well as researching composting toilets to find ones that will be able to serve our needs.
We are also currently in need of used diesel 15 passenger van that can be donated, we plan to convert it to run on bio fuels. If you are able to donate one to our resource school please contact us at (701)390-9163. We would be interested in other vehicles that are able to hold over 5 passengers and could be used in the snow to transport smaller groups of children and be used to pick up supplies.
Every donation helps us to continue to provide this vital resource for families as they protect our water. Thank you for being part of our extended community. We could not function without your mental, physical, and financial support. We are grateful for all of you. Please follow our website
for blogs, information on the school, and to learn more about our volunteer staff!
